I was told this by...someone. And it's true. If you can't picture yourself being happy with others, you most likely can. It happened with me. Just talk to her less, be her friend. If she doesn't want that, screw it. Don't let yourself be hurt by a girl that doesn't even want you. However, if she does want you (OP implies she doesn't) then get with her ASAP unless distance is an issue. But probably not.
