Current 3D systems means your eyes are constantly focused on the screen and it's only an illusion of depth, your eyes can't actually focus on where the depth is meant to be. Still, it's never given me too bad a headache in cinemas so I can't see why the 3DS would. I'm still saying bring on the holograms though =P should be a holographic system in the next couple of gens. |
The 3DS is so much closer to your face than a cinema screen. For most people that type of depth would even hurt the eyes and give headaches. Holographic screens will take a few decades to reach handheld products. Screen resolutions would need to be upwards of 100 trillion pixels plus the fringe pattern would need to be calculated in real time. Other types of screens don't have the issue of focus and are way closer to the market.
