Holding back to 2015? Doesn`t seem like a smart idea for any company involved and i doubt one of them wouldn`t try to get an head start on the competition.
Can Wii last until 2015? 10 years seems too long for a console that didn`t get serious 3rd party support till this point.
Will Xbox360 or PS3 last 10 years? I don`t really see the core market supporting them and new consoles from both companies. Nor can they last 10 years if Nintendo releases a new console.
But the most important aspect of introducing new consoles seems to be this: all of them (Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360) will lose appeal over time and with the growing mobile gaming market doesn`t seem a good decision to make Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360 last 3/4 more years - even with price cuts - without giving the console market a breath of fresh air.
Look at 3DS. Nintendo tried to make it versitle as too appeal as many people as possible. All three companies can`t risk to become outdated.
New consoles will come sooner than later.
