It's likely going to be a similar scenario to what happened in September 09 - June 10 when 360 and PS3 cut price again. 360 is about to close in on saturation in North America and a price cut will likely have a similar impact to the price cut that DS had last year (ie. almost no impact). PS3 will probably pick up a huge amount of steam this year, particularly in Europe, if it sees a £50/€60 cut.

The same saturation that XBox360 faces in USA, PS3 faces in Japan and Europe. It's wishful thinking to consider them as different scenarios, when the circumstances are similar.

Not all that similar.  Looking specifically at Europe, the PS3 launched a year and a half later there than the 360 did in North America (November 2005 vs March 2007), and remains at a relatively much higher price point than the 360.

And really, looking at the entirety of EMEAA, it's an absolutely huge market.  The PS3 has only just begun tapping into markets like the Philippines.

True 300 euro isn't much in west but in the eastern europe and asia where average monthly salary dips into 600-800 euro or even lower price drop to 200 makes huge diffrence.
