" The author pretty much said it all right there. It is also interesting that Nintendo is singled out here when all platform holders have licensing fees.

Very nicely picked up. I noticed that as well.
We know that EA hates Nintendo, so it's logical they say that. I said all this in the OP why it's ironic etc...
Also, 'pre-nintendo' reminds me of the 80s, or, the videogames crash. Something EA should read up on if they want videogaming to continue
