People complaining about Skyward Sword? Then I have to wait for the comments praising Twilight Princess.

If it's to similiar to other Zeldas - bad

If it's to different to other Zeldas - bad

Let 'em talk, you'll sooner see pigs fly than see a bad Zelda. Hearing people bitch about the series (or Nintendo's long-lived franchises in general) is some of the most HILARIOUS you'll ever see from the gaming community. Anyway, SS is looking to be good like its predecessors and here's to seeing what the full capabilities of the Wii-Mote functions are going to be in it.

You two hit the nail on the head, The Wind Waker had shit talked about it all day, people trolling saying Nintendo took it's best IP and made it for kids, etc but if they kept it like OoT they would have complained then as well, honestly it's never the long time Zelda fans complaining, they don't complain till they play the actual game (like me with TP/TWW difficulty), it's really the people that really got into gaming during the PS1 era, the rise of the interwebz if you will, and between the praise OoT got and the hate for anything Nintendo does it's reflected upon Zelda.  It either doesn't live up to OoT or it's too different and "no one" likes it.

As for me the video looks really nice, honestly it was what I was expecting when they said they were cleaning up the visuals.  There's a lot of nice effects, character models look clean and high quality, loving the way the new mechanics flow into combat which hasn't happened since OoT, and I enjoy the subtle hint at the story.

Very well said.

However, a Zelda game is good, or 'great', when the next installment has been released. You know, whilst I loved TP, I thought the consensus was it was the worst Zelda game and 'should have been more like WW'

Zelda fans like to moan, and when the series changes, for the better, people compain it isn't like the good old days. But then if they just made OoT 2 then people say its no different and Nintendo lacks originality...

So I say let them moan. I'll wait for E3 and the release, and reviews. THEN we'll see how 'poor' this Zelda game will be

It's just funny that anyone that has been playing the series for a while knows how closely OoT just follows the LttP formula just put into 3D, which I mean I loved OoT but I knew it wasn't the most original thing in the world back then, even if everyone else did, I wasn't going to argue.

Fastforward through 3 mainline games and it's been 2 games that involved a lot of character interaction over puzzles and dungeons and the last one trying to be a strong mix of both with having the most ties to LttP.

People need to get off their high horse when trying to judge a Zelda game, honestly the series hasn't changed up too much since LttP, and why should it? That formula is amazing, just slap a good story with some awesome battles, inventive puzzles, and I'm set.

Graphics never mean shit cause there's never been a bad looking Zelda for it's time and this looks to be no different.  And they always focus on combat and gameplay even if the game is easy the controls and how it plays will be really solid, which is more than 90% of games today can claim.

Agreed, and I also think people view these classic games too highly as well

If you play TP, you'll see its pretty much the same as OoT, just with better graphics and a bigger world. And its a bit longer IMO.

So there's not much in it really. OoT is just another Zelda game. All of them are great. When will people realise this??

(Also, totally agree with your last point. Gameplay>>>Graphics anytime, anyplace, anyday)

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
