Opera was/is a great handheld browser (much preferred on my iPhone to Safari. It can actually load up this site. 
) but the DSi browser just wasn't up to snuff (Wii browser works very well though). Hopefully the 3DS browser focuses on easier accessability.
With my laptop and iPhone, I doubt I'll be using the 3DS browser anytime soon, but I do hope it turns out great.
