Nvm, you always want to argue don't you? My initial comment was about the picture about a Hellgast chasing Master Cheif in a Subaru. The difference isn't so big where the PS3 is a car, and the 360 is a pair of sneakers. There is a difference, of course, but generally the level of tech in both consoles is about the same.

Top spec PC compared to consoles, theres a significant difference. Why do you think Crysis takes place in a blocky city instead of a forst full of foliage? Neither PS3 nor 360 can handle Crysis graphics, even at half max.

None of that changes the [fact] that Blu-ray and DVD are the equivalent of night and day.

For HD movies, this is completly true.

It is for gaming as well. System specs are irrelevant to what I'm saying.

I dunno, there are pro's and cons, it's not as big here. Outside a few multi-disk RPG's Blu-Ray isn't very beneficial. Multi-platform titles look about the same, and PS3's exclusives don't look that much better then the few graphically pushing 360 exclusives. Besides, load times on PS3 games, and some games forcing instalation. Meh..

I'm not going to debate your opinion though, think what you like.

You really need to chill dude, you can have a debate without taking things so seriously.

Anyway, Blu-ray is more than beneficial (I've done the handy work and looked for each and every advantage). It's not just about game looks (which HAS helped the PS3 in a significant way , but still), but how much is happening, how much content is has - that sort of thing. PS3 installs don't even plague it's top games (Uncharted 2, God of War III, Killzone 2 & 3 and the like). The differences are there, and they are not only beneficial, but big.

Where did I give any indication of being tense?

Blu-Ray is superior to DVD, but it's a much bigger benefit to HD movies, not games. Most games still fit on a single duel layer DVD (what 360 and Wii run on). The few games that require more data are the ones with excesive CG cinematics (RPG's, Metal Gear Solid, etc), and only a handful of PS3's exclusives use over 15GB. GT5 is only a 12GB game, same as Forza 3, the only benefit Blu-Ray has for it is that PD can use the extra space to copy the exact same game running a 3D engine, instead of spending time to work 3D into the coding.

Next gen, Blu-Ray will be required, games won't fit on a single duel layer DVD. For now, 10GB is a constrain, but it's not the end of the world. The few games that require more data just have multi-disk on 360.

For HD movies, Blu-Ray is a big jump because an 1080p film on a DVD is prone to screen tearing, and only hold a little less then half an hour of video.

Interesting fact: Twisted Metal Black and some of PS2's earlier games were actually CD based. DVD was obviously a big jump, but many of PS2's games could fit onto a CD. Even then the ones which required a DVD only used a single layer DVD which is about 5GB. Many developers stuck with CD based games to save on costs. This is the same idea with blue-ray except PS3 implemented blu-ray gaming before the media required extra data on disks. PS2 came out during peak DVD season (Hence the difference in price at launch).
