How so? The valid criticisms were linearity and lack of exploration, authorization and the burden it posed on willing suspension of disbelief, and Samus' characterization (which i maintain could have been perfected with just a few tweaks, though that runs counter to the people for whom she was a Terminator expy), and i say that those could be easily altered.

That was not the way you put it before.

I rather think that it is, so i shall request specification on that. I'll grant my earlier statement was combative, but did not seek to create a strawman (unless my point against people who never assume that the same studio can do a game differently was to that end, though that point is quite true, in their rage against the game, the haterbase has furthered the idea that Sakamoto himself is ruinous to the franchise and cannot make a good Metroid game in spite of all logic otherwise)

I don't think Sakamoto cannot make a good Metroid game. But he shouldn't try to turn it into a movie. And even if he wanted to do a movie, he really needs to practice telling stories, because he really isn't good at it right now.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
