I'm pretty sure the reason the hardware shipments have not been update is because Sony changed it's method of reporting shipments after March 31. So right now, it shows 5.5 million for March, but in the changed methodology of sell through to retail, rather than production, the September sell through to retail (i.e. shipped console total) was about the same.
If you're curious though, here is what I have:
| Shipments | Wii/PS3 - est | ||||
| Console | Dec 06' | March 2007' | June 2007' | Sept 2007' | * Dec 2007' |
| Nintendo Wii | 3.19 | 5.84 | 9.27 | 13.17 | 20.5 |
| Xbox 360 | 10.4 | 10.9 | 11.6 | 13.4 | 17.7 |
| Playstation 3 | 1.66 | 3.57 | 4.28 | 5.59 | 9.75 |
The italicized numbers are my estimates, other numbers are publicly announced lifetime to date shipments to retail worldwide.
