The problem with this is that January 2010 was also significantly down from 2009. I think 2009 was up on 2008, but that is more due to the severe supply issues they had back then. 2008 also had an insane April-June quarter thanks to Wii Fit and Mario Kart, and I'd assume they held some supply from the first three months to save for these releases.
