Well, seeing as how the NGP has a second analog stick, the touch screen can be used for something other than a camera while in-game. So, it does still have purpose, because it's freed up options.
Also, it's probably a preference thing too? If someone knows the NGP has a second analog stick, they'll more-than-likely get it because of that, and shooters. And, it'll feel more natural to them because it's what they're used to.. Not all of us wanna touch our screens while playing...
People are going to be confused while they wait on their patches for the PSP 2nd analog stick activation.
Just throwing the 2nd stick in there wont make the PSP game know automatically that that stick is for the camera....
