I agree with Jim. Squeenix mostly shine when they make original IPs anyway. Let the teams do something else... How about another Einhander or Dirge of Cerberus (without the Final Fantasy)?

Heck, I'd be quite happy if they just continued with Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest, though it seems as though all that potential for new IPs is going to waste...

Yeah. In my opinion, Kingdom Hearts is pretty much the only good thing that came out after the Square and Enix merge... Oh and FFXII!

Indefinately. FF12 has to be one of the great games of the PS2.

But how long did it take to make? 4 years? Maybe 5?

And how many FF games are we looking at this year. Precisely

Also, I don't think most people enjoyed FF13. And just because it sells well, doesn't mean it's any good. Look at Ninjabread man and other Wii shovelware for example

Um, the Wii shovelware doesn't sell well for the most part, neither did Ninjabread Man.

And it's the fact that the sales are frontloaded that is the proof most gamers dind't enjoy FFXIII (same with Other M and Heavy Rain), while gamers like games like Red Dead Redemption, Just Dance (it's not shovelware just because some people don't like it), and even Epic Mickey.

What about Carnival games? That's a million-seller no?

Also, I think the issue with FFXIII is there was sooooooooo much hype about it pre-launch, and when I sat down to play it, and there were no cities or NPC's or witty characters...well, that hurt me. Bearing in mind that I'd just come off re-playing FF12 in anticipation. It's an alright game. But it's not Final Fantasy.

@Wagram. I'm one of those people. FFVII is a good game, but nowhere near as good as many people want you to believe. I thought VIII, XII and III (maybe even X and IV) were better!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
