It is actually... the PSP had all the support it wanted, while the NGP isnt even close. But there are plenty of things that could go well. It seems that the time and battery consuming UMD drive is gone, instead we have cartridges. The online capabilities are on-par with the PS3, so it could become a trend thing. Software wise it seems that both core and more casual oriented games will apear, and that Sony is putting far more emphasis on the 1st party lineup...
In one way its in a similar sittuation as the DS was. Its something that nobody was seriously expecting ( no 3D screen, no shell design etc.) and 1st party seems far more powerfull then the 3rd party support
Dont underestimate the underdog.
But in a more realistic aproach: if it has the games it has IMO a shot at recapturing the curent PSP installbase, plus have better software sales. Lets hope that it will go well
