Dammit Notch, what's with the spiders being able to climb walls now! I went back to play Minecraft for the first time in months just to relive my expierences of the past and check up on any new potential updates. So I go strolling across my great wall and imagine my surprise when 3 spiders jumped me and chased me all the way back to my palace before finally finishing me off. Now I have to go back and revamp miles of wall to accomidate the new super spiders!

I thought he'd said that creepers had formerly been able to do that, and he just swapped them with spiders?  I hate the Spiderman spiders, but ninja creepers would be worse. 

Also, how are you going to "revamp" anything?  Short of making an enclosed tunnel or building right to the top of the sky I don't see how ANYWHERE is safe. 

Nope, creepers just bounced around stupidly like the other enemies. Creepers climbing walls would be downright horrifying. Before the update, I was able to walk along my wall/road from one side of the continent to the other without getting touched. Now I take 8 steps and I'm gang raped by those damn dirty leaping spiders.

Apparently, if you build an overhang or lip bordering a wall, that's sufficient to keep the spiders off. But it's still a pain as I have a TON of wall to rework now. Guess that's what I get to commiting so much to such an early game build :/

the lip works, mines made of glass, had it there before the update, its funny to watch them try and climb up after you, it also gives you a way to have them follow you into traps where you can harvest thier goods
