The most important?
1) The USA. The largest economy by far, an enormous share in world trade, home to most of the large banks, dominates the software industry, has an enormous number of international brand names... the list goes on.
2) China. The world's largest exporter of goods. A source of cheap labour. The largest population in the world. The largest economic growth of any country.
3) Russia. A very powerful army, more nuclear weapons than everyone else combined, borders some of the most hostile countries in the world.
I won't kid myself and pretend the UK is anywhere near the top, but Germany certainly is, giving the EU some representation.
