Assuming there is a 3D bubble burst (again, I'm basing this on that occuring, not claiming this is a certainty), then Nintendo might rename the system if anything with 3D in the name loses sales. They might call this new version the "Super DS" or something like that. As they would just make it clear it's "compabitle" with 3DS games, just without the 3D.
Yes, that seems crazy now, it's just on the assumption it might happen.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
