That would really be a post-Genesis-Sega-esque move.

The market will be completely confused and thrown away if Nintendo makes a non-3D 3DS. It would also really reduce 3DS, in the eyes of a spectator, to a pathetic failure considering it had to have its main gimmick removed, which would tear Nintendo's reputation to shreds after the DS and Wii.

Of course, it is possible, but so is Nintendo taking over the world using 3DS's hypnotic rays.

Thank you for finally offering a reason that makes sense.

I wouldn't have so much of a problem if this caused only a minor increase in price. But to charge more over the DS than the DS cost over the GBA is wrong. Not even the Wii cost this much on its own (required a bundle).

Well, we all remember the last console that was deemed to expensive compared to its predecessors at $250, :D.

To be honest, the price does seem a bit unjustly high, but I have a feeling that it's not just the 3D, but the higher specs, better online, motion sensing, pedometer and everything else that goes along with it.

And, I hope, at the very least, that it's gonna be worth it.

Again, the Wii was bundled, so it was not that much on its own. Furthermore, even with the bundle it was 50$ more in launch price difference, not 100$ more.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
