The funny thing has that Tretton recently said in an interview with Dean Takahashi that they mean 11 million sold-to-consumers, not sold-to-retail, which was obvously BS. What Tretton said was what Sony wanted to sell, not what they have sold.

11 million sold-to-retail is Sony's official forecast, so he misrepresented the contents of their financial guidance.

Not just that but it's for the fiscal year only, not LTD (total) numbers. By Sony's forecasts, the total number of shipped PS3s by the 31st of March 2008 would be 14.57 million.

It will be interesting to see if they reduce their forecast in the upcoming Q3 financial report, they really should or massive egg will be on their faces when they make their fiscal year report.
