Why in the land of platforming (Japan) LBP failed so miserably?

It wasn't developed in Japan and it didn't flop.

The origins are Japanese.  Please dont try and belittle the importance of a 30 year history which began in Japan with Nintendo.

No one relates Donkey Kong or Donkey Kong Jr. to the Donkey Kong Country games.

Why there isn't point? It is fact that the Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Country are not related exepct for both having "Donkey Kong" on the title. The Donkey Kong Country games were all non-japanese, and barely had Nintendos HQ hand on it, and yet they sold extremmely well in Japan. The thing is that you can't compete with the facts and that's why you're leaving.
