More reason why I take numbers with a grain of Salt from VGC. While it tends to be fairly decent at tracking numbers, it doesn't get hard sales data directly from every retailer out there and there will always be adjustments made on everything.
Myself, I bought GT5 last week, and I had to run to 3 different stores before I finally found one that had 1 in stock (got the last one at Target that day). I would find it difficult to believe that there wasn't any shipments after the initial ones within the first couple weeks of release if Sony claimed that 5.5 million was shipped/sold back then. 4 weeks later and they state 5.5 million sold seems to be likely and it's not out of the realm of possibility either that a big adjustment of 10% is forthcoming from VGC.
I would have a feeling that a company that makes the game should have an accurate gauge on how well it sold. It's not like ET from the 80's.
My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.
