I'm in the market for a new smartphone this year I think. But it's not a console. Neither is the iPad, but it is still a gaming platform regardless of what any brand console fan would have you believe.

If Verizon finally gets the iPhone 4, my choice is an easy one. If not, I'm looking into a Droid X as well as some of Samsung's latest models.

If I drop my iPhone 3, I'll keep my iOS compatibility with a new iPod Touch or a 2nd Gen iPad with 3G connectivity.

As far as dedicated consoles go, my excitement for the 3DS has already passed and I won't be paying more than $199 for one. So whenever the price drops, that's when I'll start playing 3DS games. MGS and RE on a tiny 3D screen can wait.

In the unlikely event that it launches at $199 in NA, I'll buy one if I can find one at retail price.

Not enough information on the PS2 for a legit opinion. Assuming it gets the next batch of top franchise sequels, and it offers some form of BC (PS1, PSP or even PS2) it may again just boil down to price. If they launch at $199 in NA, I'll buy one.

In the unlikely event that my 40 month old 360 dies (insert RRoD jokes here), I'll be in the market for a Kinect/250GB bundle.

Currently resisting the urge to upgrade video cards.
