Heavy Rain's genre defining moment happened 11 years ago............ it's called Shenmue.

Very very different types of games, did you play either?

Are they really that different? perhaps you should look around the interweb and see just how many times that Shenmue & Heavy Rain get mentioned in the same breath..............

You know....... The king and the pauper.

i don't want to look around on the net because i own both and played both.

You know..... like actually play them... with my own hands.

Ditto........... and one is clearly more groundbreaking than the other.

and one is clearly different from the other.

i don't see what you are trying to accomplish with this argument.

I'm not trying to accomplish anything, the facts all around the media speak for themselves. (well, multiplatform media anyway)

as a huge Sega fan do you really think Shenmue is similar to heavy rain ?

see, there is a lot of fighting (there is actual fighting!), lots of mini games , lots of freeroaming lots of outside of storyline interactions on Shenmue

while in Heavy Rain there isn't much of that, and it plays very differently , a lot like the PC point and click games, a lot less like shenmue,  the only thing similar is that they both use QTE , by your logic God Of War is the same as shenmue. heck every action game this gen is the same as shenmue

so unless you are trying too hard to troll or just being another butthurt sega fan going on a holy crusade against Sony because "SONY KILLED SEGA BAWAWW!!!!" , i don't see the point of what you said.
