New crack method works on current firmware, doesn't require dongle, and the private keys have been foundso anyone can have signed SELF files.

Watch the videos of how it was done. They are awesome - Sony made huge mistakes in the design of the security measures.

Seeing as it took this long to crack, I highly doubt Sony made huge mistakes in it's design. It took over 4 years to crack. Compare that with nearly every other system ever made; those were usually craked in just over a month.

 

 

Exactly. I know that Soleron probably wet his pant hearing this, but Sony made an amazing job when it comes to piracy protection. More then 4 years down the road, I doubt that even if pirating games will be easy in the near future, it will  effect software sales . If anything it could help the hardware installbase in poor countries
