MS is all for Wii owners graduating to the Xbox 360. Since Wii owners seem to like platformers in general, it's worth a try to secure a console exclusive even if it's just a downloadable game.
I admit that this doesn't make much sense at first glance, but it doesn't have to in order to be a plausible explanation. We've seen worse exclusive deals this gen.

This would have to be one of the worst such deals, though; I'm not knocking the game (I've heard nothing but great things, and am somewhat bitter at having to miss out), but I can't think of anyone who'd jump ship for a digital title, especially one that's easily available and playable on most modern PCs (assuming you don't need to play with a gamepad. Heeeey, Wii controllers have bluetooth, right...?).

Ah well, that's that then.
