| Wagram said: SE isn't doing as well as it once was. However many of you guys should realize that no giants reign lasts forever. There will always be Rise and Fall periods. Square is having a tough time based off of stupid decisions it has made. Timed exclusitivity on a system that hardly any of its fanbase was on was ridiculously stupid. Also its constant need to re-do every game in their catalogue. As well as the fact that they haven't really released jack on the PS3 or Wii. So no wonder their sales are lower. Also the recent Final Fantasy XIV debacle isn't helping them. Though many of you need to take a steo back and give square credit for something. They have released MANY good games this gen that seemed to be completely overshadowed. For example: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (which is considered by many as the best PSP game of all fricken time) Crisis Core (my personal favorite PSP game) Dissidia (a very damn fine fighting game) Final Fantasy XIII (sure it is hated by many, but just as many love it) The Last Remnant (hated by critics but loved by many including myself) I'm not saying that SE doesn't need to get its act together because they definitely do. However many of you criticize them to no end just because you can. Give them SOME credit. |
Agreed. Looking at my collection here I'd also add:
It is a Wonderful World (The World Ends With You) (with Jupiter helped). Phenomenal but to a narrow audience.
Nier (RIP Cavia) Incredible game, so overlooked
Dragon Quest IX (with Level 5 helped)
Dragon Quest Monsters series
Final Fantasy Tactics series
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series
Star Ocean: The Last Hope (Tri-Ace)
Dragon Quest Heroes:Rocket Slime (Tose)
Mana series (Nex Entertainment / Brownie Brown)
and many more.

Square Enix simply followed the market and went onto handhelds. Their handheld releases has been excellent. None of the home consoles have the power here that the PS2 had. Hence the lack of support. I've loved Square-Enix this generation.
