Its a hardware upgrade if it takes entirely different games. Old giant brick Game Boys played Game Boy Color carts... Right? (The first GB I had was a Color, so I don't know.) But if it did, then it ought to be counted together. Regardless, PS2 is going to cruise past it, and then cruise past 130 million too. People keep underselling the PS2 by saying it will stop at 130 million. Look at how much PS shipped after PS2 launched! I'm thinking 135 million is the over/under, and 140 million is possible. Also of note, the PlayStation line has now shipped 250 million units! 251.27 to be exact. A quarter billion PlayStations since late in 1994! Pretty amazing.
