If you have an interest in M-rated games, you'll try to get to play the best there is. That definitely isn't on the Wii and it's for reasons that go beyond graphical and online limitations: Nintendo doesn't make M-rated games and third parties don't put their best teams on Wii games in general, so what you can buy in terms of M-rated games on the Wii is limited to at best second rate titles, but usually worse.
Short, succinct and straight to the point. If you can grasp the basic idea outlined above, you won't have to wonder why, out of the three current generation home consoles, M-rated games sell the worst on the Wii despite its clear installed base advantage.
My thoughts exactly, and at this point anyone hoping for more M games on Wii has given up and gotten an HD console.
Not really; I've got both a Wii, PS3 and 360 and use the Wii far more for 2proper" gaming than those two this year...
Mainly due to Monster Hunter though
But you have a PS3 and 360... I used my Wii far more than the 360 (now gone) but still ended up getting a 360 for WRPGs and other genre's that Wii sadly lacks. So now even an exclusive 'core' game like Monster Hunter has to compete with all the titles on the HD systems for our dollars. There's little point in putting those games exclusive to Wii now.
I think this gen, one needs at least a wii and a HD console to get the best selection, unless one coincidentally doesn't like the genres the wii excels at. Looking at this year alone, it's obvious that the wii far outshines the HD consoles when it comes to platformers. It also outshines them when it comes to niche games, most of the time. And for someone like me, it has more exclusive anime games. But there'll definitely be people who don't like any of the 3 categories I just used as examples.
