Honestly, I tend to buy most of my mature/hardcore games on 360 or PS3 as opposed to Wii.  I enjoy Wii for Nintendo 1st party games, for party games like Just Dance, and for other niche games like Zach and Wiki that can't be found elsewhere.

For other games I like to see pretty HD graphics, superior online play, and more DLC options.  Most hardcore games have an element that pushes technology-- I simply can't play a game like ME2, Uncharted 2, GOW3, or Red Dead Redemption on the Wii.  The Wii simply cannot run a game like that.  Since there are so many great hardcore games on HD consoles right now, I never even consider buying hardcore games like Madworld, Red Steel 2, and No More Heroes 2 which are vastly inferior to what can be found on an HD console.  I would never even consider playing CoD on the Wii since the graphics and online are going to be so scaled back compared to the version I play on 360.

My dream is that I can one day play all my favorite Nintendo and hardcore games all on 1 console again.  This dream probably won't happen anytime soon though.

I agree with you, but I'd say that missing out on such great Wii games as Monster Hunter Tri and Red Steel 2 is a travesty. The others, yeah OK, not great. But those two (especially Tri) need to be in any gamers collection!

As for your dream, wake up. Look what's happening with the 3DS. Nintendo is learning, and no doubt the Wii2 will have amazing 3rd party support to boot!

I was more referring to a home console.
I am excited about 3DS, but I don't play hardcore games on handhelds anyway.  I actually really like the DS the way it already is-- Professor Layton, Ace Attorney, Zelda, New Super Mario Bros, etc.  When I want to play an immersive game with good graphics I go straight to the console.

Yes, but surely the 3DS shows a strong thrid-party line-up, which we can expect to be followed in the SuperWii?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
