Get used to "Thru the Mirror" 
Actually, I really enjoy these 2D sections. There's just something about them that is so fundamentally fun. I can't quite put my finger on it.
Every time I find myself in a new area, I tell myself that "this is the best part yet! I doubt anything else will be this much fun.", and of course I enter a new area and I'm blown away (currently in Venture Land, based off Pirates of the Carribean/Jungle Cruise).
