Feel free to complain about the current state of JRPG's....but don't do it in a thread where we are celebrating the success of one, something which we don't get to do often this gen for a JRPG

SO4 has a metacritic of 74, its hardly us that are unapprecative, its also the gaming media who dont think its good. i havent played it but its clearly not just the fans. i finished SO3 thou, and i could explain in detail why i didnt like it.

i dont give a toss about the sales, but imo their success is marginal. eg Alan Wake which is conisdered a disaster did better in a shorter space of time (even thou AW sales are actully quite good). still quarter of a million on 2 consoles in the EU in the space of 2 years is just amazing....

A meta of 74 is a "bad game" now? I give SO4 a score of 8 myself (not that far from 74).....but see I still appreciate it as I classify that as "good" as do many other gaming journalists. Below 50 is bad or within 50.

I haven't played SO3....I can't comment on if its good or bad but I know some people hate it and some love it too.

Alan Wake is only considered a disaster because of its development time......please tell me you did not just compare Alan Wake to star ocean 4 sales wise....doing cross genre/franchise sales comparison will waste our time.

Also....Valkyria Chronicles is considered a big success....and SO4 has outsold it...therefore......see we can do this for ages....there's not much point to it.

Lets instead compare SO4 sales to past games in its series....the decline that its seeing is hardly there...and that which is there is due to Japan. In West its done the best it ever has.
