not to mention some awful design decision such as using the sound chip from the 2600, featuring no hardware tiling, and those terrible joysticks
and then the 2600 was nearly a decade old when the nes arrived, though it actually received much better support than the 7800 with some of its finest efforts arriving in the late 80's (such as solaris, secret quest, radar lock, sprint master, off the wall, Jr. Pacman, and the unfortunately unreleased Save Mary)
