For sure !!!  Its amazing that an American console is going to win this year in the United States. Even atari didnt succed that, back in the days...

Well, Atari Games (Tengen) and Atari Corp. (owned briefly by Commodore) were just ashes of what Atari Inc. was before the crash (when Warner splitted and sold the company), so they had no chance to compete against the Nintendomination... Atari Inc. was the last American company to dominate the industry in their home turf, now Microsoft has the chance to at least win a year which is incredible after 25 years of Japanese domination (Ninty, Sega, Ninty, Sony and Ninty again)...

not to mention that atari was run by Jack We're a computer company Tremial who was basically unwilling to put more than the bare minimum into thier console line and the 7800 was basically unsupported by anyone and atari didn't release original games for it until about 89, in 1986 its big head line pack in was Pole position, honestly pole position,

not to mention some awful design decision such as using the sound chip from the 2600, featuring no hardware tiling,  and those terrible joysticks

and then the 2600 was nearly a decade old when the nes arrived,  though it actually received much better support than the 7800 with some of its finest efforts arriving in the late 80's (such as solaris, secret quest, radar lock, sprint master, off the wall, Jr. Pacman, and the unfortunately unreleased Save Mary)
