Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii is worth picking up for anyone who wants FPS action on the Wii. Yes, I know that two of the three are Gamecube games, but so what? The second game did feature a multiplayer FPS mode, which you can play four player splitscreen against people. It is a fun change of pace and works with the Wii remote and Nunchuck accessory.
It isn't like Nintendo is opposed to people doing FPS on the Wii. It is just they aren't strongly going after it. Metroid Prime, as was mentioned above, is their game in the FPS genre they put out.
