Quick question:  If a company (like Ninja Theory/Namco) ships one million copies of a game to stores, and the stores have to sell the games at a price cut, does Namco get paid for the games shipped or the games sold?  I mean, when do they get their money?  And who's decision is it to cut the price?  The retailer or the company/distributor?  I know I sound like a noob, here.  I'm just hoping that if the game really has sold 800,000 copies, the retailer is taking the hit for discounts instead of the game's maker.

Anybody?

i suppose the Publisher will decide to reduce the price for the retailer, if a game doesn't sell, to avoid getting all the unsold copies sent back to them.

that means of course, in that case Namco gets less money on the reduced Games as well.

as much as i would like to, i can't imagine the retailers will take the hit.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
