6 of the 10 were pack-ins with Nintendo systems (SMB, SMW, SML, Tetris, Duck Hunt, Wii Sports), and 3 more had multiple SKUs (Pokemon RGB, Pokemon GS, Nintendogs).
That deserves mention, but many who criticize their inclusion just want to completely ignore them, as if they aren't among the most popular games of all time, to make Nintendo look less dominant.
How about this: by a quick count, 19 of the top 25, 31 of the top 50, and 52 of the top 100 best-sellers of all time were published by Nintendo. No one can pretend that the 6 pack-ins do not belong among the top 50 most popular games. While they've captured the whole top 10 through pack-ins, to pretend they aren't the dominant software producer of all-time is silly.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
