I've always been sure it eventually would happen, after all ps3 has been outselling 360 pretty much constantly since launch, and especially recently it has become clear that it's going to happen it's only a matter of when.

Anyways it's hard to say when, despite having higher software sales and most likely a higher userbase (since so many 360s broke compared to ps3s) 360 has managed to keep the lead from it's headstart, anyways If I were to guessed I'd say the ps3 will outsell the 360 in total sales around march 2012 I mean 360 doesn't even have any good exclusives coming out next year, but it hasn't had many for awhile and still manages to sell anyways thats my prediction

These types of threads just cause flame wars, but I'll still give my 2 cents. First let me point out all the wrong things you have said in your post.

1. PS3 has not been outselling the 360 consistantly since launch. In fact the greatest difference in sales was only in Fall 2008 (8.1 million). PS3 versus 360 sales have been fluctuating since launch, and it was only this year that Sony finally brought the difference between PS3's and 360's to below the initial, and not really by much.

2. As for recent sales, you never know. Sony generally outsold the 360 from September 2009 to June 2010, then MS had the advantage for about 4 months, and now PS3 is ahead again due to Move....but what will Kinect do? I think because of a lack of an exclusive lineup (until GT5's release date is confirmed) this fall, and because Kinect will be getting a larger marketing push, 360 will outsell the PS3 this fall, and judguing from to 10 week countdown, most people agree. The fight for sales when it comes to PS3 and 360 is like a tetter totter, when one jumps the other falls, but then the other jumps back. Price Cut, Slim, Slim, Move, Kinect, Price Cut, Price Cut, discontinue...

3. Good exclusives are argueable, I've seen a few threads and well actually 360 has just as many good exclusives for 2011 as PS3. It's just 360 has a strong fall line-up, so most people aren't focusing on it. Outside from Gears, Forza, and Halo, there is also MechWarrior, XCOM, Prey 2, etc. There is also rumor that FFXIII Versus might go multiplatform (like FFXIII also an exclusive did)

4. Also this year 360 has seen just as many good exclusives as PS3, lets just stop with this one here cause this type of topic always leads to a fan-war. People just have different preferences. Heavy Rain, or Alan Wake? God of War or Splinter Cell? Fable or White Knight Chronicles? Halo or Gran Turismo 5? Mass Effect 2 or Atelier Rorana, Metro 2033 or Mod Nation Racers? Crackdown 2 or MAG? Kinect or Move exclusives? Goes on and on...

Now my opinion? IMHO I do not beleive the PS3 will outsell the 360, unless the PS4 comes out a year after the 360 does. This year is the last big year for PS3 and 360 sales, and I see it going to the 360. Even if PS3 outsells the 360 in the next couple years, the difference will be less then 20%, probably even less then 10%. Thats not enough to outsell the 360, and if Kinect takes off PS3 has no hope.

Microsoft won't let Sony beat them because if the PS3 outsells the 360, MS gaming reputation will be hurt badly. Sony doesn't want to loose either, but MS has larger pockets, and will always retain Americas dominance (so sales will never strongly favor one HD console over the other). I mean just look at Kinect, on it's own it has enough selling potential to keep up with the PS3 Move, but MS still decided to throw a 100 million dollar marketing budget at it.

So assuming both successor consoles are launched on the same year, I would give this range on the sales difference. Minimum 1 million (PS3 outsells the 360 by an average of 20% in the next couple years), Maximum 7 (360 outsells the PS3 by an average of 20%). Both options look equal to me, I know a $200 PS3 should push sales, but a $100 Arcade 360. Thats more tempting, especially since by that point talks of a successor console will be happening.

1. I know it hasn't been consistent I admit I worded that badly, but ps3 has been outselling 360 alot more often then 360 has been outselling ps3

2. MS didn't have the advantage, and move didn't make the difference, VG chartz was just wrong, look at the shipped numbers, unless you think Sony is shipping more and more every quarter without their first shipment selling and kinect isn't going to do anymore then move, they'll cancel each other out, move will probably do better in the long run

3. Those games aren't exclusive, most of them are 360/pc with a chance to come to ps3 as for FFXIII it was announced multiplat over a year before launch I hardly call that an exclusive, maybe formerly announced as an exclusive, and while yes versus has a chance to go multiplat I doubt it, the game was developed for the ps3 and is an action rpg not a turnbased one, it would be alot harder to port and they have less time, if it does go multiplat it would get delayed into 2012

4. Not really, you over looked both demon's souls and valkyria chronicles for white knight chronicles the worst of the 3 not to mention uncharted to gears and infamous to crackdown would have been better comparisons, conviction is a timed exclusive (every single splinter cell game has been a timed exclusive) and mass effect 2 has been announced for ps3 besides the games you listed what do you have forza? I could add 10 games easily to the ones you mentioned for ps3

lol ps3 has been outselling 360 the whole year except for 1 week when reach launched and kinect isn't going to do much, and again 360s games are dwindling and Sony has a lock on all developing markets, worse case they shift focus and outsell after 360 is discounted, but I doubt it will even go that far, and relative to time ps3 has been selling more anyways so your point of it not mattering is kinda moot

Kinect doesn't have potential, the concept has potential but the actual tech doesn't, the hype will fade soon enough, you'll see, as for 360 dominate in NA, they aren't ahead by that much in NA now and losing ALL of the other world, NA might be the biggest market but it isn't bigger then the rest of the world put together

So your saying the only possible way 360 could outsell ps3 lifetime is if it was on the market for a year longer, that seems to be accurate, but even if they both successors came out on the same year ps3 would still outsell 360 because of Sony's lock on developing countries that 360 doesn't even ship to

1. Not really, Microsoft had a huge jump in September 2008, and that held to September 2009, where PS3's jump only lasted until June. Then MS had a little over 3 months of dominance, then the Move will give Sony 2, then after that I think Kinect will hold fans over for a while, so MS dominance.

2. Wrong numbers? Poor arguement... Shipped figures do not reflect sold units, remember MS just introduced a new model 360, it had to sell off all old models, and probably had difficulty producing so many new 360's. As for Move doing better then Kinect, it's possible, but I doubt it. Thats my opinion, either way Sony will not hold dominant sales in 2011 (Up to Fall), at best it will only break even with Microsoft.

3. How many people have a gaming quality PC? If you ever compare multi-console/PC games, PC game sales are close to 1/10th console game sales. A game releasing on a PC still makes it a console exclusive, and that still is a valid arguement for exclusivity. Even then most 360 exclusives for 2011, are complete exclusives and do not see a PC version.

As for FFXIII it was announced multiplatform 6 months before its Japanese launch and 9 months before it's worldwide launch. As for FFXIII Versus, anything is possible, graphically it's completly possible to run it on the 360, it's not that different from RE5, just the 360 version will need like 3 Disks to account for all the HD videos.

4. Demon Souls and Valkeria Chronicles came out in 2009 in Americas, so for me they aren't 2010 games. Uncharted and InFAMOUS are also 2009 games, You said recently 360 has seen less exclusives then PS3 and in 2010 that is definatly not the case. I just wanted to prove your statement in your initial post is false, and it's true, in 2010 360 had at least the same # of exclusives if not more. Just a matter of preference.

Spliner Cell Conviction has not been announced to for the PS3, so right now it's exclusives, and ME2 can only be bought on 360/PS3 right now right? So it's exclusive. you also don't get the same DLC support on the PS3 version, so ME3 for PS3 will always be inferior to ME2 360.

I could also easily add 10 more games to that list I made, those were just 2010 exclusives. Just because you don't like 360 exclusives, don't go out an use that as an arguement to why PS3 would outsell 360 in the future. Last I checked PS3/360 exclusives sell about the same.

LMAO at the underlined bit, so wrong. Since the 360 Slim 360 has been outselling the PS3 except until just after Reach. Kinect will also be massive, with a 100 million dollar marketing budget, how couldn't it? As for 360 exclusive dwidling, already proved you wrong on that one, and you tried to add 2009 PS3 exclusives, but....just no buddy.

Okay I'm going to stop here, I see there is no reasoning with you. Think what you want, but if you make thread like this you will end up getting banned..... wait a sec....

I look forward to having a reasonable debate with you in the future.
