Well obviously Ninokuni's the most expensive L5 game to date, it's been in development over 3 years now and they're working with Studio Ghibli on it. That shit ain't cheap. :P Speaking of Ninokuni though, you're aware it started out PS3 only, and they decided to do a DS version later to recoup it's costs, right? Honestly the way it's looking, the game will probably be their first and last self-published PS3 game (same deal for IE Strikers on Wii and LBX on PSP). 3DS is the future, and Level-5 is ready... L-5 already has a premier worldwide brand too, in Professor Layton. Inazuma Eleven has lots of potential too... worldwide, I doubt Ninokuni (DS or PS3) will outsell either series' top sellers. |
Level-5 is also trying to make Ninokuni a premiere worldwide brand, they aren't just going to give up on it.
And to do that they need the PS3 version to succeed a lot, in Japan and in the West.
3DS may be the future or it may not.....that isn't proven yet. Once upon a time the PS3/N64 was the future and the surefire king of the next generation.
