Really short games= Vanquish getting praised regardless of length, something like flOwer I remember getting docked points for being short.

till today, I still feel sour to Gametrailers (or was it someone else?)  for docking points for Wipeout HD because it recycled tracks and ships from older games but overlooked the fact that the game was a brilliantly put together piece of awesomeness, with only one real bug to speak of. Yet NV is getting everyone jizzing left right and centre when clearly the game is incomplete.

Yes I'm aware it's a huge game trying new things but that's not a real excuse in my opinion as it seems quite a few of the bugs that originally happened in F3 is happening in NV as well. I remember people talking about enemies spawning in mid-air and falling to their death, happened to me a couple of times and by the sounds of things, this hasn't been fixed. If it had been a lesser known company, I doubt that they would get away it.

some games can make up for being short by being great in other areas, a game that is awesome for 4 hours is still better than a 40 hour piece of crap. Having said that if the game is short then reviews should at least mention it which I believe most reviewers do, and points should be docked if the enjoyment of the game is harmed by it's length.

games should be docked for copy and pasting old content as people could just get the content from the old game so there is less need to get the new one, as long as they still gave the game a fair rating I don't see the problem. But if the game still had new content and mechanics in other areas that outways the the copied stuff than yes the game should get a high score.

As for NV it is not getting universal praise at all many reviews have docked it considerably for the bugs and the reused assets, but from what I have heard and read the content is so good and so plentiful that the game is still more than worth playing, it's not perfect but it's still a great game. If you don't agree with the reviewers opinion of the game then disregard it, it's not law or definitive by any means.

Now as for vanquish many reviews docked it for length but once again the game is still a blast to play, and for the kind of people the game is aimed at it will have tones of replayability with it's god hard mode, challenge mode and online leader boards, it's still a great game with a lot going for it. And as long as the review mentioned the length so people that find the ability to finish the campaign in 4~ hours by skipping all the cut-scenes and the fact the is a lot of cheesy dialogue so people who don't like that sort of thing can avoid the game, I don't see the problem if the reviewer thinks that the game is amazing and worth a 9/10.

Some people find game length to be incredibly important, some value the amount of fun they had while playing the game no matter the length, some people find glitches unbearable some people think the gameplay and content of the game can make up for technical short comings, and reviews are going to reflect that, reviews are the reviewers opinions of the game after all, you disagree with their opinion fine don't buy the game (or do) find reviewers that reflect your opinions and stick with theme if you wan't but just because you have a different opinion doesn't make their review wrong.

as for things falling out of the sky are you sure that's a bug, sounds like a feature to me...
