According to sony they have sold around 2.5 million move controllers in just North America, Latin America, and Europe, move launched today in japan...

it's likely that sony sells another 3 million controllers by the end of the year, with the holiday season approaching, over 5 million move controllers may have been sold by the end of december...

microsoft expects to sell 3-4 million kinect the holidays...

Oh, typical Leo-J

Sony SHIPPED that amount.  Sold to consumers is another story entirely.  I think MS expects to sell through to consumers that many Kinects.

Another thing, Sony doesn't say what they are referencing in that number but it likely combines Move Controllers, Nav Controllers, Move Bundles, etc all into that.  Kinect is a 1 purchase deal while to get the full Move experience people will have to purchase up to 3 extra controller devices, drastically skewing that comparison.

So for total hardware sold counting secondary controllers, yes Move may outsell Kinect for 2010.  As far as unique users of the devices, Kinect will win that hands down and with it being sold out pretty much everywhere, I expect Kinect to sell every unit that is able to be produced and easily make the 3-4 million goal and then some.

move is sold out in most places as well... so the shipped figure isn't far off from the consumer sales

also counting nav controllers and ps eye units as "MOVE units" is sad, is it so hard to believe the move has sold that well? Or does it have to flop in order for it to be true in your eyes
