Long ago, Sylvarant and Tethe'alla were united as a single world, connected by the Great Kharlan tree. Divine intentions tore them apart however, and the tree withered and died. It was eventually left to a boy named Lloyd to restore the world to its true form. At his journey's end, a new tree was planted to replace the old one and to hold the two worlds togther. This was the story of the Journey of Regenration...

Together once more, the world is now entering a new era. However, its people are still faced with many problems. After the lands became one, maps were rendered unusable and the climate went through many vast changes. Desert towns are becoming frozen wastelands and lakes are drying up into valleys.

All of this stems from an overlooked factor in the unification of the worlds. The spirit of the old Kharlan Tree, Ratatosk, still exists somewhere, and its slumber has sent the world into chaos.

However, Ratatosk isn't the only problem; the people of the two worlds are starting to hate each other. The citizens of Tethe'alla look down upon the citizens of Sylvarant due to their inferior tecnology, and the citizens of Sylvarant fear the citizens of Tethe'alla because of their power.

Two years have passed since the worlds were first merged, and the people of Sylvarant have set up a vanguard with which to rise up against the Church of Martel and the people of Tethe'alla.

One day, the Church of Martel went to war the vanguard, and Sylvarant's city of Palmacosta was caught in the crossfire. Countless innocent people died and Palmacosta was engulfed in a terrible fire.

This event came to be known as the "Purge of Flames", a bloody massacre, led by Lloyd Irving of the Church of Martel."

For those who don't know, Emil and Marta were orphaned in the "Purge of Flames." Led by Lloyd Irving...

They're not training with Lloyd. They trying to kill him. They want him to ****ing die.

WTH? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lloyd is a bad guy?! NOOO!!!!!

I'm surprised they still have the Church of Martel. Martel isn't a goddess guys, get over it >_>

But WHY would Sylvarant have a vanguard up against the CoM? Tethe'alla maybe, but the CoM? WTH? And WHY would Lloyd actually massacre the people of Palmacosta? This makes NO sense! And Lloyd joins the CoM? Lol.

But then...remember Colette in the party? Does that mean she's against Lloyd too? So Lloyd will be a boss fight then. NOOO!!!! STUPID LLOYD! BE A GOOD GUY!

This is gonna have a GREAT, GREAT story.

@Hess

It's a main series/mothership title though. It's NOT a spin-off.

@Benga

Actually, it arrives April or May in Japan.

@Resi

This is my most anticipated game of this gen lol. And I'm still playing ToS too :D I beat it 18 times with 750+ hours.

Who says Lloyd is a bad guy. Its called perspective Soriku. The people that have suffered since Sylvarant and Tethe'alla have been joined into one world wouldn't view Lloyd as a hero. They would look at him as the reason for their suffering. They wouldn't know that his actions saved them all from destruction. This bloody massacre that Lloyd lead is from the perspective of the losers of that battle. Lloyd, given his personality, was most likely defending Palmacosta from an attack. The people that were orphaned by the battle, the lead characters of KoR, wouldn't care what Lloyd's reasons were. They would only care that they lost their families and blame Lloyd for it, even if he was not at fault.
