No they are not laid out for you and shoved in your face like in FF games or Metal Gear Solid. But if you play the game properly you will be treated to very cool, funny and interesting story...yes this. the back stories to the psychopaths are awesome. and the main story form DR1 is awesome i didnt play the real story the first time through in DR2 just explored got to know thew psychopaths and power up a bit. lvl28 after first time through
