If i remember correctly, they wanted it to sell like 3 to 4 million.

The original projection was 3.7 million (lol).  Capcom eventually kept paring that down until it was just 2.2m at last count, and the game ended up shipping just 1.5m (and will likely never ship another copy).

For legitimate "Capcom flops" on consoles this gen, I'd say it's just...

  • Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes (Wii) PS2 port, not a huge loss
  • Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (PS3) 360 port, not a huge loss
  • Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop (Wii) outsourced on the cheap, not a huge loss
  • Bionic Commando (360/PS3/PC) significant
  • Spyborgs (Wii) somewhat significant
  • Dark Void (360/PS3/PC) significant
  • Lost Planet 2 (360/PS3) significant
...and upcoming...
  • Lost Planet 2 (PC) "free" port essentially, not a huge loss
  • Dead Rising 2 (360/PS3/PC) could go either way imo
  • DmC (360/PS3) lol
  • Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor (360) but it's subsidized by MS anyway

The issue with spyborgs is that VGchartz only tracks America. It was No.1 over here in the UK for a good couple of weeks!

I'd say the actual figure is roughly .20 million, then it ain't so bad :)

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
