2. To do so, i need to upgrade to a Wyvern Sword Flame

3. To acquire the Wyvern Sword Flame, i need a Rathalos Plate

4. Therefore i must fight Rathalos plus, because he has a much higher chance (12% in the tail, way higher than anything Rath minus can boast of)

I'd just fight low rank ones anyways since you'll kill your way through them faster and get more chances in the same amount of time. Those %'s are just cruel false hopes, the desire sensor doesn't care. =P

I can't get Uragaan Rubies to save my life but I have more Earth Dragon Gem's then I have Jhen Mohran kills.

EDIT: And don't forget to pick-up Shiny drops, the odds stink, but I have actually gotten a Rathalos Plate that way.

Lawl, me miles behind (HR36 if you're interested) and I've got 12 Rathalos plates- no joke. I actually SOLD a few to fund new weapon research :P

No Rathian plates though
