I dunno, Dragon Quest came out of the handheld shift pretty well.  Certainly better than Final Fantasy did in the HD shift. ;)

Since when is DQ/FF the same as KH? Every new DQ/FF is a new story while KH is one big story.

Yet you needed Chain of Memories to understand KH2, 358 is just more back story thankfully, but Birth By Sleep is very much needed, so to know the story you must own a PS2, a GBA (till RE:CoM came out even then it sold like crap), and a PSP to know the story... yeah good luck finding a majority of gamers that went through that trouble...

Well the way you stated it its like it would be killed, but clearly it's already happened, it really hurts that a majority of the story since the first game is mediocre on top of that.  KH1 and BBS being the best sadly the ones that got hooked on KH1 probably wont own BBS, but if KH3 was put on the 3DS it can't be any worse than putting essential plots on other systems.
