If you wanted to hear the story, then it would make a bit more sense. 
SPOILERS:
The leader of Team Plasma, N, gains control of Zekrom (Black colored Legendary) in Black and Reshiram (White colored Legendary) in White. You get the opposite Pokemon to challenge him.
