Couldn't have said it better myself; I resent the notion that games need to be 'hi-fi' to be relevant, and that old games subsequently need to be remade. Yes, technology has been historically limited, and the design of old games reflect that - which is the entire point of keeping these games, and the limitations that spurred their creativity, intact.
I will point out that the manpower and resources allocated to this project probably do not take away from Nintendo's other projects.
I also will admit I might pick this up out of convenience, making me a total hypocrite, but in principle I don't know why this is necessary. Of course I understand the financial side of the matter, but... I just wanted to vent, I guess.
