I hate how people are so preocupied by how much a game sells you should be worried about how good the actual game is. So yeah some games sell better than others and I can see Gears 3 selling maybe 6 million LT, Pokemon Black/White 18 million LT I still doubt either of those will be GOTY. They will definitely be contenders for GOTY but it's still too early to tell.

Haha yeah you got me there sorry, but I mean I hate how he asks is Gears 3 going to be the biggest game of 2011 in the title and is only comparing sales to make that conclusion. I realize I'm in the wrong section to be complaining about this haha but maybe next time word the title better.

That makes sense. Yes - ignoring which forum we're in - it is a bit overkill the way some people measure the quality of a game simply by sales.

Many of my favorite games are not blockbuster titles. Super Mario RPG, Mass Effect, Golden Sun Saga, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, Pikmin, Game & Watch Gallery, Kirby, Chrono Trigger, Stunt Race FX, Heavy Rain. Then again, a lot are: Gears of War, Mario Kart, Pokemon, Super Mario 3D Platformers, Forza Motorsport, Halo, Uncharted, Half-Life, Donkey Kong Country, Zelda etc.
