Well I think Sports Champions is obviously because Wii Sports showed how well the idea works as a demo for motion controls and completely agree with anyone who thinks they copied the general concept, but poo pooing on Sony for using a lot of the same sports Nintendo has is just being unreasonable.  There aren't that many fun and easily recognizeable sports to put into a motion controlled game that Nintendo hasn't already done.  And I don't want a sports game filled with Badmitton, Water Polo, and Bossaball.

I think the problem is really caused when users say Sony motion pursuit wasn't a result of Nintendo successful pursuit into motion controls. I do feel that Kinect is very similar to eyetoy, but the execution of the product is different.

Edit forgot my point: While I feel the execution of the move makes it very similar to the Wii. (At this time)

As for the topic at hand, no I do not believe it is a much bigger step than the wii.
