You can't be gay as a jedi, or for that matter, straight. You're not allowed to love anyone.
But then, if Anakin had never loved anyone, we'd have no Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, no Death Star Canteen Eddie Izzard sketch and no obscure Star Wars cultural references everywhere.
