Onlive will halt console gaming just like gamefly killed the rental/sales market.
A few things.
1) they are the same price as buying when you buy the "full play pass" so there are no savings. The rental could save you money if you were a hardcore gamer who finishes games in 2-3 days (so maybe 1% of the gaming populace) You also don't have to buy high end PC's to keep up with the latest games (which play on lower power PCs from the last few years anyways), but the PC market isn't the largest anyways, and people like consoles (in general)
2) any true hardcore gamer will have a super power PC rig. This isn't a console replacement, it is a PC replacement. At this point, they might as well use steam and save money which will fund parts for their super powerful PC
I'm not saying it can't succeed, but it needs to significantly differentiate itself or it needs to be significant savings. It is doing neither of these two things.
